Power outages are hard on hard-wired smoke alarms! If your alarm is beeping & YOU DON'T SEE OR SMELL SMOKE. (check the attic too!) Find the alarm(s) that have a solid red light. Unplug it and it should still run on the battery backup until you can get an expert to look at your smoke alarm system.
