Bf-109 E3. Main opponent faced by the P-38 when it, along with the Americans, entered the European front of WWII. I got to see this one at a museum in Munich last week. Really amazing experience. I had just finished reading The Few by Alex Kershaw and of course had been thinking about the Volar Lightning all the time…because well that’s what I do.
