The Harris County jail system has experienced epidemics in the past and that experience has prepared the jail. We are screening all new inmates in the booking process at the Joint Processing Center (JPC), which is equipped with a full clinic. The jail has COVID-19 test kits to screen inmates in-house. In Florida, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has arrested a man who allegedly shot his pregnant girlfriend and her unborn child in the abdomen. Miraculously, the victims survived the brutal ordeal. HCSO says the victim arrived at a Brandon hospital in the early hours of November 22. The bullet reportedly passed through the woman's abdomen and the abdomen of the unborn child.
