With the Interstellar Dust Experiment, scientists hope to learn more about the materials that compose our solar system and beyond.
The two NASA missions are the Interstellar Mapping and Acceleration Probe, or IMAP, and the Carruthers Geocorona Observatory. The NOAA mission is known as the Space Weather Follow On-Lagrange 1, or SWFO-L1.
The spacecraft will study the solar system's edge, magnetic fields in interplanetary space, and remnants of exploded stars.
