The Department of Homeland Security is intensifying its efforts to persuade unauthorized immigrants to self-deport by offering a $1,000 stipend and travel assistance.

The Department of Homeland Security said it is providing travel and financial assistance, in addition to a stipend, for those who return to their home countries.

The Trump administration announced Monday it would offer $1,000 and free airline tickets to immigrants in the U.S. illegally if they sign up for self-deportation and return to their home countries voluntarily.
