Santa Fe County Sheriff Adan Mendoza said this particular item “is something of concern" regarding the deaths of the actor and his wife, Betsy Arakawa.

"I think the autopsy results, the official results, are going to help us steer us in the right direction," the sheriff said in an interview on Friday.

Authorities are investigating the deaths of Oscar-winning actor Gene Hackman, his wife and their dog at their home in New Mexico after they were discovered by a sheriff’s deputy who said the circumstances of their death were suspicious enough to warrant a deeper look.
