Japan made history of its own on Tuesday by electing its first female prime minister, Sanae Takaichi, a self-declared admirer of the "Iron Lady."

Sanae Takaichi, 64, will present a Cabinet with a number of allies of LDP's most powerful kingmaker, Taro Aso, and others who backed her in the party leadership vote.

She became known for her strong conservative views, particularly on national security, constitutional reform, and economic resilience.
