A man died Monday night after he got caught in a rip current while swimming at an unguarded Seaside Heights beach, officials said. Rescuers were called to the Webster Avenue beach shortly before 7 p.m.

The victim and four others, including his 16-year-old son, were pulled from the water around 7 p.m. -- two hours after lifeguard duty had ended.
