Watkins projects as a contributor at all three wide receiver spots in the 49ers’ system — a necessity given the team’s lack of depth of talent at the position. He has deep speed to play X receiver, the wiggle and toughness to play at Z, and the explosion off the line and craftiness to play in the slot.

It's rare that the San Francisco 49ers selection of a running back in the draft isn't met with some form of ridicule. That ridicule is often warranted given how many times they've reached for a lot of RBs who didn't wind up working out during the Kyle Shanahan era.
