Of all the players the Celtics were expected to rid themselves of in their quest to get below the dreaded NBA second apron, young point guard JD Davison--the team's second-round pick out of Alabama in 2022--was not high on the list.

The Houston Rockets have been making moves this offseason to improve their championship odds. Most notably, they added four-time scoring champ Kevin Durant to their roster.

JD Davison had a heck of a season in the G League, but the Celtics waived the guard to dip back under the NBA's second apron.
