GOP Rep. Cory Mills of Florida is under investigation by the Metropolitan Police Department of the District Columbia for allegedly assaulting an individual, the police department told CNN.

Washington, D.C., police said they are investigating Rep. Cory Mills, R-Fla., over a report of an alleged assault at an apartment building this week.

Sarah Raviani, who lives at the Washington, D.C., home as Mills told police he assaulted her. Metro Police are investigating.
