NASA, Astronaut Candidate
Digest more
NASA announced the 2025 class of astronauts, and it includes someone who already is a record-breaking astronaut.
For the first time, NASA’s astronaut candidate class includes someone who has already been to orbit, and is majority women, as the space agency focuses on its goals to send humans back to the Moon and onto Mars.
Submitting is simple. NASA has set up a dedicated page where anyone can add their name and instantly receive a digital “boarding pass” as a keepsake. All the collected names will be stored on an SD card installed inside Orion, giving ordinary people a symbolic seat on the first crewed Artemis mission.
The four Artemis II astronauts selected for a 2026 mission around the moon completed the "Pete and Bobby Challenge," doing 100 pushups and 50 pullups.
