New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani said Monday evening he's willing to appear at a town hall hosted by a local ABC station now that the national network says it will reinstate Jimmy Kimmel’s late night show.
By Monday, Disney announced that Kimmel would return. But Nexstar station owners have stood their ground on preempting the show on their ABC affiliates.

Sinclair does not own or operate any ABC affiliates in Indiana. Nexstar owns and operates the ABC affiliate WEHT in Evansville, where "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" is scheduled to show tonight. “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” is set to return Tuesday, Sept. 23. “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” airs on ABC and some of its affiliates.
ABC announced Monday it would resume airing the show to "avoid further inflaming a tense situation at an emotional moment for our country."
Shots were fired at a local news station building in Sacramento, California, on Friday afternoon, local police said.
