Five municipalities will continue their unusual tradition of trick-or-treating a day early instead of Halloween night.

Soon, children across the region will suit up in their finest costumes to make the honorable trek for their favorite candies. For most communities, trick or treat, called Beggars' Night by some, occurs this year from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, or Halloween night. Some areas, however, have adjusted the hours.
