SEOUL (Reuters) -Tottenham Hotspur captain Son Heung-min played what is expected to be his final match for the club in front of 64,773 fans at the Seoul World Cup Stadium on Sunday, and teammate James Maddison was carried off with a knee injury.

The game in South Korea was billed as Son Heung-min’s grand farewell after the Spurs captain announced his decision to leave north London. The 33-year-old forward trotted off the pitch to a standing ovation in the 65th minute ahead of what is expected to be a record-breaking move to LAFC.

Heung-min Son was given a guard of honor by both Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United players as he played what is expected to be his final minutes as a Spurs player. An emotional Son, 33, announced on Saturday that he is set to leave Spurs this summer after a decade with the north London club.
