The Minnesota Vikings had some good performances in their 20-10 win over the Houston Texans, but some players struggled in the preseason debut.

Jordan Mason showed why the Vikings traded for him this offseason, running four times for 20 yards. But it was third-year running back Zavier Scott who stole the show, running seven times for 40 yards, helping spearhead a 94-yard touchdown drive in the second quarter.

J.J. McCarthy was solid in his brief return for the Vikings, going 4 of 7 for 30 yards while leading a scoring drive in his only series and Minnesota topped the Houston Texans 20-10 on Saturday in the teams' preseason opener.
