Three area athletes were named first team all-Ohio in Sunday’s release of the award winners by the Ohio High School Volleyball Coaches Association.

Defiance College men's basketball survived an ice cold shooting night to take down Kent State Tuscarawas 67-56 in a season-opening victory at the Karl H. Weaner Center on Saturday.

Defiance College football was able to hang with Siena Heights University in a Saturday home bout but ultimately fell by one score 28-20 and dropped its seventh-straight game.
