Jacob Misiorowski says he spends the days before a start focusing more on himself and making sure he’s physically ready than worrying about the hitters he’s going to face.

Monday night started out as bad as possible for rookie right-hander Jacob Misiorowski but by the time all was said and done, he might have done his best work yet.

Jacob Misiorowski went to Brew Town Trading Co. in Greenfield on his off day. He ended up pulling his own card in a less-than-one-in-a-million chance.

Misiorowski is having quite the year, and pulling his own card only adds to it. He made his MLB debut in June and was named an All-Star after pitching just five games. In his six appearances, he's recorded a 4-1 record with a 2.45 ERA and 0.92 WHIP.

Misiorowski didn't factor into the decision Monday against the Cubs, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks in four innings. He struck out seven.
