Scammers are targeting people with fake Mega Millions lottery schemes that use the official game logo to create nonexistent “special drawings,” officials warn.

In a Dec. 15 press release, Mega Millions warned that fake lottery scams can take many forms including contacting intended victims to say they've won a large prize. Scammers may also try and trick people into buying "tickets" for a fake drawing.
