McLaren admits that it thought the two-stop would be "the dominant strategy” at the Hungarian Grand Prix, but that didn’t stop Lando Norris from making a one-stop work

McLaren driver Lando Norris grabbed the victory at the Hungarian Grand Prix after starting third on the grid. Norris lost a couple of places at the start, sliding down to fifth, but his race pace proved to be immense and he quickly made up ground.

Lando Norris won a riveting Hungarian Grand Prix on Sunday, cutting fellow McLaren driver Oscar Piastri’s lead in the championship standings to 9 points in the last Formula 1 race before the summer break.
