Tata Motors turned the biggest loser in Nifty Auto index, and one of the top laggards on Nifty 50 in early trade on Tuesday. The Nexon-maker fell as much as 3.66% today on the back of drop in wholesales and retail sales for Jaguar Land Rover Ltd. (UK) in the recently concluded September quarter.

Tata Motors-owned Jaguar Land Rover highlighted on Monday that the retail sales witnessed a decline of 3 per cent on a year-on-year basis. The retail sales of the manufacturer stood at 1,03,108 units in the second quarter of the current fiscal as compared to the year-ago period.

The future of vehicle transport is electric, and this investment by JLR illustrates its firm commitment to that future.

Production in Q2 FY25 was limited to 86,000 units, a 7% decrease from 93,000 units in the previous year, due to aluminium supply difficulties.

Jaguar Land Rover reported a 3% decline in retail sales to 1,03,108 units in Q2 FY25, impacted by aluminium supply disruptions. Production was also affected, but the company expects recovery in the second half.

In the month under review, Tata Motors’ JLR sales in the UK rose to multi-month high of 10,807 units compared to 8,125 units in September 2023.
