The two U.S. Senate candidates met for their first debate Tuesday night in Grand Rapids, where they laid out different visions for how they would tackle some of today’s biggest issues.

Democratic Michigan Rep. Elissa Slotkin and former Republican Rep. Mike Rogers have clashed on key issues including abortion, foreign policy, and immigration during their first debate in the race for the crucial Senate seat of Michigan.

The Quinnipiac University poll of likely voters in the Great Lakes State found the Senate candidates tied with 48 percent support apiece.
