After rolling with D'Andre Swift as the team's running back in 2023, the Eagles switched things up and signed Saquon Barkley in free agency after he spent the beginning of this career as a member of the New York Giants. The Eagles were familiar with him after being on the opposite side of the field.

Since the Philadelphia Eagles won the Super Bowl, it can be easy to forget: The Chiefs mostly bottled up Saquon Barkley on the ground. The Eagles and Barkley are well aware of that fact, though, and they have a plan to counteract it. It's time to reactivate Barkley as a receiver. ESPN's Tim McManus described the plan in a new article out Friday:

Barkley will likely be joined in the backfield by AJ Dillon and Will Shipley, who also has some pass-catching skills. The Eagles will be mindful of Barkley's snap count after logging a career-high 345 attempts in 2024, but it doesn't sound like his playing time will be reduced dramatically.
