TBILISI (Reuters) -Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev will meet with U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House on Friday as the bitter rivals work towards a peace deal to resolve nearly four decades of conflict.

Armenia said Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will hold talks in Washington with US President Donald Trump and Azerbaijani leader Ilham Aliyev, as part of a diplomatic push to try to finalize a peace treaty ending decades of conflict between the two South Caucasus nations.

Donald Trump is hosting the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan in Washington this week for a summit which could advance a much-anticipated peace agreement between the two. The meeting would send a strong signal to Moscow regarding the two countries' commitment to finding a solution without Russia.
