Prominent civil rights attorney Ben Crump is representing the family of the Black man who was shot and killed by an Aurora police officer. Aurora Police Department on Friday released body-worn camera video of the incident.

AURORA, Colo. — As an independent team of investigators reviews a fatal police shooting, a prominent civil rights attorney is criticizing the actions of the Aurora Police Department as the agency releases body camera footage of that day.

An Aurora City councilmember and the attorneys of a man shot by an officer criticized the police chief for crafting a “narrative” about what happened — a charge that the law enforcement department denied.

New body-worn camera video of the Aurora officer shooting at Rajon Belt-Stubblefield was released Friday afternoon.

The footage, captured from body-worn cameras, surveillance video, and witness cellphones, provides multiple perspectives of the incident.
