On Saturday at 8:26 p.m. the National Weather Service released an updated tornado warning in effect until 9:15 p.m. for Clarke, Monroe and Washington counties.

Supercell thunderstorms in Mississippi are now tracking into Alabama. These storms are moving quickly at 50 mph. These tornadoes have produced damage in Mississippi. Severe weather is impacting West Alabama right now and will reach the I-65 corridor by 5 p.

At least 12 fatalities have been reported in Missouri, according to the Missouri State Emergency Management Agency. The deaths come as a massive storm system moving across the country unleashed winds that damaged buildings, whipped up deadly dust storms and fanned more than 100 wildfires.

Numerous significant tornadoes are expected Saturday afternoon and evening, with the highest risk across several states in the Deep South, forecasters say.
