The White House is addressing affordability with new trade frameworks and policy rollouts aimed at reducing costs for Americans, following the longest government shutdown in U.S. history.
New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani will meet with President Trump at the White House Friday putting the frequent foe of conservatives face-to-face with one of his biggest critics.
"Communist Mayor of New York City, Zohran “Kwame” Mamdani, has asked for a meeting. We have agreed that this meeting will take place at the Oval Office on Friday, November 21st," Trump said in a post on social media Wednesday.
The Indiana state Senate stalemated in a Tuesday vote that was a close proxy for gerrymandering. The result arguably meant that the White House is still seven votes away from the 26 it needs to pursue maximalist redistricting goals in the Indiana chamber.
The newly reopened Washington Monument, which typically offers sprawling views of Washington, DC from 555 feet high, now provides a peek at the White House’s East Wing renovations. Andrew Leyden, a freelance photographer in Washington, D.C., posted photos of the scene from the top of the obelisk on X last week.
In place of the East Wing, President Donald Trump has approved plans to build a 90,000-square-foot ballroom at an estimated cost of $300 million and, according to the White House, will be funded through private donations.
