South Florida is under a Next Weather Alert Wednesday as storms, saturated ground, and king tides combine to raise the risk of flooding.
Miami is experiencing heavy rains and potential flooding with an 80% chance of showers, while residents face discomfort due to high humidity at 88%. Relief may come this weekend with a slight decrease in storm activity.
On Wednesday, the weather service issued a heavy rainfall and urban flooding threat alert. The reasons: Rounds of heavy rainfall Wednesday through Saturday may lead to localized urban flooding, with the greatest threat for flooding across the east coast metro of South Florida.
The National Weather Service says the warning includes Miami International Airport, Miami, Hialeah, Coral Gables, Miami Springs and Allapattah.
Miami's forecast includes sunshine, possible rain showers, and thunderstorms with highs around 89°F and variable winds.
The Miami Dolphins and Buffalo Bills play Thursday, Sept. 18 at 8:15 p.m. at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park. The game will be broadcast on Amazon Prime. Al Michaels and Kirk Herbstreit will call the game with sideline reporter Kaylee Hartung.
