Carolina Panthers’ Ryan Fitzgerald drilled a game-wining 49-yard FG to defeat the Green Bay Packers.

The Panthers improved to 4-3 on the season after beating the Jets 13-6, achieving their first over .500 record in nearly four years.

Having a bye week makes it seem like an even longer time, but the Buffalo Bills are back in the win column in Week 8. The Bills (5-2) took and and beat the Carolina Panthers in a rout on Sunday. It was a 40-9 final.

The Bills, behind 38 rushing yards from running back James Cook, chugged downfield on the first touch—reaching the Panthers' 23-yard line. But linebacker Trevin Wallace sacked quarterback Josh Allen on a third-and-10 to keep Buffalo to a 45-yard field goal. Bills lead 3-0 with 7:14 left in the first quarter.

Panthers rookie outside linebacker Nick Scourton picked up his first full career sack, bringing down Jets quarterback Tyrod Taylor on a third-and-2. Carolina, now with four sacks on the afternoon, takes over from their own 8-yard line with 7:06 left in the third quarter.

James Cook rushed for 216 yards and two touchdowns and the Bills defense had seven sacks in a 40-3 win over the Panthers.
