Boston still has more moves it could make to improve its odds, including signing two-time World Series champion Alex Bregman. Last year, Bregman hit .260 with a .768 OPS, 26 home runs, and 75 RBIs in 145 games for Houston.

The Red Sox finding a way to sign him would fit with Kennedy's prior talk of building a contender in 2025. That said, the Red Sox will need to get moving on Bregman as other teams have interest, too. A return to Houston is still in play for Bregman, which Astros general manager Dana Brown acknowledged via MLB.com.
