PHILADELPHIA -- Rasmus Ristolainen scored with 26 seconds remaining in overtime and the Philadelphia Flyers extended their point streak to six games with a 2-1 win against the Detroit Red Wings at Wells Fargo Center on Tuesday.

Joel Farabee’s goal at 5:21 of the second period was the only scoring through two periods. He fired in a backhand shot from the slot as the Red Wings were scrambling in their zone. The Flyers had the game’s only power play and didn’t convert.

Cates only had five points in his first 24 games, but he’s been on fire since gaining chemistry with wingers Tyson Foerster and Bobby Brink. The trio have combined to become the Flyers’ best line and one of the best lines in the entire league in terms of driving play and generating chances.

Bobby Brink, Joel Farabee and Garnet Hathaway scored to help Philadelphia build a three-goal lead and they held on to beat New Jersey. Scott Laughton had a goal and an assist to help the Flyers snap a two-game losing streak and win the opener of a home-and-home set.
