Kate Douglass wins the 200 breaststroke for the U.S.; Netherlands, China, Hungary and Britain also claim victories heading into a captivating final two days.

Yu Zidi, a 12-year-old Chinese athlete, has become the youngest swimmer in history to win a medal at the World Aquatics Championships. China won bronze in the 4x200m freestyle relay at the Championships in Singapore, and while Yu did not swim in Thursday’s final, she qualified for a medal after swimming a leg in the heats earlier in the day.

The gold medals were spread around Friday at the swimming world championships, thanks to the absence of stars Léon Marchand of France and Canadian Summer McIntosh from any finals on Day 6 in Singapore

The United States set a world record in the mixed 4x100 metres freestyle relay at the world championships in Singapore on Saturday. The U.S. team of Jack Alexy, Patrick Sammon, Kate Douglass and Torri Huske clocked 3:18.
