Philadelphia Police are investigating a burglary of the SS United States, which is set to sink and turn into an artificial reef in Florida.

The Okaloosa County Board of County Commissioners approved a contingent contract to acquire the SS United States and sink it off the coast of Florida to create an artificial reef.

It’s another S.O.S. from the South Philadelphia berth of the SS United States. This time, the calls for help have nothing to do with its ongoing dispute with its landlord Penn Warehousing. Instead, the ship appears to have fallen victim to burglary, according to police.
