Notre Dame is 3-1. Notre Dame opened the season with a 23-13 victory over Texas A&M in College State, Texas, before falling in its home opener to Mid-American Conference school Northern Illinois, 16-14, in a stunner for the Irish. The Irish bounced back with a 66-7 victory at Purdue and then dispatched Miami (Ohio), 28-3, last weekend at home.

Notre Dame was in desperate need of a break after its 31-24 win over Louisville, which meant the bye week came at a perfect time. The Irish had won its third straight game, but the Irish were scuffling a bit offensively and it was becoming a very banged up football team.

A lthough the Notre Dame Fighting Irish don’t play a game this week, it is nonetheless a sacred one within our community, as we celebrate the annual ritual of Cheeseburger Week.

Keys to the drive: A lost fumble after a big run from Louisville quarterback Tyler Shough put the Irish at midfield.
