National Night Out in Texoma was held Tuesday in various cities across the county. The Van Alstyne Pollice Department held its annual event at Central Social District and the event included police v. fire tug of war game, a touch-a-truck event, hot Dogs, a bounce house, slide, train rides, face painting and more.

Children dodged between police patrol cars, laughing as they waved to various city employees from multiple Pelham departments at National Night Out on Tuesday, Oct. 1 at Pelham City Park.

Meanwhile at the Kamay Volunteer Fire Department, the Wichita County Sheriff’s Office and participating agencies put on a similar event, including a helicopter fly-in. National Night Out is a nationwide effort to build relationships between first responder agencies and the residents they serve.

National Night Out is held annually on the first Tuesday of every month. Its goal is to bridge the gap between law enforcement and the Little Rock community.
