Several streets in Boston’s Back Bay are closed Tuesday evening after multiple manhole explosions and fires. Police said around 6:30 p.m. that they had responded to the fires at the intersection of Dartmouth Street and Newbury Street.
The fire department says an electrical issue caused six manholes to explode on Newbury Street.
Newbury Street and other roadways in Boston’s Back Bay neighborhood were evacuated and closed down Tuesday night after multiple manholes in the area exploded and caught fire, according to Boston police.
