Gov. Wes Moore will look to make a dent in the looming $3 billion state budget deficit through a new effort that aims to save $50 million by eliminating wasteful and inconsistent spending across government agencies.

Maryland Gov. Wes Moore has warned that massive budget cuts are on the way as state lawmakers try to solve a $3 billion budget gap. Moore told Maryland residents Wednesday to brace themselves for $2 billion worth of cuts in his soon-to-be-released budget.

Governor Wes Moore spoke to the press Wednesday at the state capitol. One of the topics he addressed was the budget deficit Maryland currently faces. Governor Moore is looking to cut around 2 billion dollars from that deficit in the coming year.
