Multiple people were involved in stopping and detaining the suspect in Saturday's attack at a Walmart store in Traverse City. One was armed with a pistol.

Garfield Township — A Walmart store where 11 people were stabbed Saturday in what appeared to be random attack by a Cheboygan man remained closed Monday, though community members were rallying together to support one another.

"I'm still sitting and grappling with the weight of realizing that it was kind of a life-or-death moment," said Julia Martell, who witnessed the stabbing, which wounded 11 people.

Walmart is using artificial intelligence and other methods to crack down on fraudulent sellers on its website.

While there were signs that customers were switching from more expensive items to more affordable ones, Walmart was “taking less price than its peers.”
