Toyota is delaying the production of its first U.S.-made electric vehicle until 2026 at the earliest. Still, it says it’s going to sell as many as seven all-electric vehicles here within the next two years.

Toyota reportedly had plans for a three-row all-electric SUV model to be built in Georgetown, Kentucky by the end of 2025, but those intentions have now been pushed back a few months to a planned early 2026 production start.

"We’re still focused on our global [battery electric vehicle] target of 1.5M vehicles by 2026," said Toyota spokesperson Scott Vazin, adding that in the next two years it plans
