One of the strongest typhoons in years has made landfall in China, after killing at least 27 people in Taiwan and the Philippines. Typhoon Ragasa slammed Hong Kong with waves taller than lampposts, as the storm turned its attention on the southeast coast of China on Wednesday.
Hong Kong lowered its typhoon signal from 10, its highest warning, to 8 Wednesday afternoon, keeping the city locked down.
Almost 2 million people were evacuated across southern China as the world’s strongest typhoon this year continued its deadly rampage in Asia.
