A reward was offered in an internet outage caused by a criminal act of vandalism Sunday that affected thousands of Los Angeles Spectrum customers.

Extra crews were brought in, and Spectrum said service had been restored to the Ventura area by 9 a.m. Some local residents, however, reported service interruptions throughout the day. Most customers in the Los Angeles area also had service restored by Sunday night, officials said.

Spectrum customers in parts of Los Angeles and Ventura counties lost network access on Sunday, June 15, after at least one person cut service lines in Van Nuys, the company said. Internet, cable and home-phone services were disrupted.
