Tennessee football redshirt freshman receiver Braylon Staley previews the week of preparation that the offense is taking ahead of the matchup with the Oklahoma Sooners.

The Tennessee Vols will be looking to keep their College Football Playoff hopes alive this weekend in a home matchup against the Oklahoma Sooners. Tennessee is 6-2 with losses to the Georgia Bulldogs and the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Tennessee first played Oklahoma in the 1939 Orange Bowl following its national championship season in 1938. The Vols shut out Oklahoma, 17-0, to complete an undefeated season. The two teams also played in the 1967 Orange Bowl with the Sooners winning, 26-24. Oklahoma won at home in 2014, recording a 34-10 victory.

Oklahoma went 11-2 in 2015, winning the Big 12 and making the CFP. After a down year in 2014 and some poor quarterback play since the departures of Sam Bradford and Landry Jones, the Sooners had their guy under center and began a remarkable run of six straight conference titles and four playoff trips in those six seasons.

Tennessee announced its uniform combination versus the Sooners on Monday. The Vols will wear dark mode uniforms against Oklahoma at Neyland Stadium. Tennessee football is 5-1 all time when wearing black uniforms.
