Multiple winter weather-related alerts are in place across parts of New York, as well as further south in the Mid-Atlantic region.

The National Weather Service says a strong storm will bring moderate to heavy snowfall across parts of the Upper Great Lakes and Northeast this weekend.

Winter storms battered the Northeast and Midwest. Some areas got more than a foot of snow and thousands of flights were impacted. NBC News' Maya Eaglin reports on the new round of storms coming this week.
