Los Angeles Rams HC Sean McVay says no major injuries after Week 3 collapse vs. Philadelphia Eagles as Steve Avila is set to be reevaluated.
The Los Angeles Rams fell to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, and part of the reason was the rough days for two interior offensive linemen.
Philadelphia’s decision in the offseason to pick up Davis’ fifth-year option was smart. After the season, the Eagles could sign Davis to a long-term extension, establishing him and Carter as the anchors of their defensive line for this next era.
After the Los Angeles Rams fell on the road to the Eagles, RB Kyren Williams had some strong words for their NFC rival and promised to bounce back.
The Los Angeles Rams had a game of two different halves in their Week 3 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. A 12-point halftime lead quickly evaporated into a seven-point loss by game's end after the defense failed to prevent a comeback and the offense went scoreless in a pivotal fourth quarter.
Defensive tackle Jordan Davis, however, put an exclamation point on the greatest game of his career by blocking the field goal and then returning it 61 yards for a touchdown. It was the Eagles’ second blocked field goal of the fourth quarter. Fellow lineman Jalen Carter had the other.
In that game playoff game, Los Angeles finished with more total yards, first downs, and red zone conversions, while Matt Stafford outdueled Jalen Hurts by 196 passing yards. Saquon Barkley’s two touchdowns and 205 scrimmage yards, along with several timely plays on defense, proved the difference.
A four-yard touchdown pass from Eagles star quarterback Jalen Hurts to DeVonta Smith with 1:48 left in the fourth quarter paved the way for the team's comeback win over the Rams. Philadelphia had trailed for the entire second half before Hurts' third touchdown pass of the game.
