The WNBA world eagerly circled Sunday's game between the Chicago Sky and Indiana Fever for quite some time. When the schedule was released, it was set to be another matchup between Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese,

WNBA fans were perhaps disappointed that Caitlin Clark (groin) and Angel Reese (back) were unable to renew their famous rivalry in Sunday's matchup between the Indiana Fever and Chicago Sky due to injuries.

The Sky came into Sunday’s contest extremely shorthanded. Angel Reese sat out for a second consecutive game due to a back injury, joining Ariel Atkins, Moriah Jefferson and Hailey Van Lith on the injury list. Chicago was also without their starting point guard, Courtney Vandersloot, who underwent season-ending ACL surgery in June.
