On its way to a team championship repeat, Brownsburg won seven individual titles, tying the state record set in 1949.

After last year's IHSAA finals were held at Ford Center, the tournament returns to Gainbridge Fieldhouse in downtown Indianapolis. Wrestling at state is no stranger to individuals from Southwestern Indiana — several area grapplers have competed for (and even won) IHSAA titles in recent years.

At 120, the fifth-ranked Meier (40-6) gave up a first-period takedown but fought back to within 5-4 with an escape early in the third, but No. 3 Gavin Lewis of Crown Point (30-3) came up with a takedown and gave up a stalling point but hung on for the 8-6 win.
