Justice may finally be coming in a brutal 44-year-old California killing that shocked Sacramento when a young mother was stabbed to death in front of her baby.

SACRAMENTO – Detectives have made an arrest in the 1980 killing of a Sacramento mother after years of struggling with evidence, police say. Helen Terry was found stabbed to death in her Wyndham Drive apartment back on Aug. 28, 1980. Her one-year-old son was alone in the apartment when she was found.

A man was arrested on suspicion of homicide in the stabbing death of a Sacramento woman found dead in August 1980 with her child as the sole witness, the Sacramento Police Department said Wednesday.

Police said that the woman had filed a paternity suit against a man she believed was the father of her son. That man has now been arrested in connection to her death more than 40 years later. READ MOR
