Patriots quarterback Drake Maye was serenaded with chants of “M-V-P” as he ran off the field at Gillette Stadium after defeating the Jets 27-14 on Thursday night. The 23-year-old signal-caller threw for 281 yards and a touchdown in the win, adding to the mountain of evidence for his case to be the league’s MVP.

The MVP chants recurred throughout the evening and picked up again when the Patriots quarterback took a knee in victory formation. After the victory, Maye was asked how he felt hearing that from his home crowd. “Those may have been for TreVeyon (Henderson) tonight,” Maye smirked. “He scored three touchdowns.”
