Carlos Alcaraz beat world No. 1 Jannik Sinner in the final of the French Open on Sunday, taking the 22-year-old’s Grand Slam haul to five titles. But that barely does justice to the drama that played out at the Court Philippe-Chatrier.

Alcaraz, who celebrated his 22nd birthday on May 5th, successfully defended his French Open title and he is now a two-time winner at Roland Garros. He also completed back-to-back Wimbledon triumphant runs in 2023 and 2024, while his maiden Major title came at the 2022 US Open.

Carlos Alcaraz successfully defended his title at the 2025 French Open on Sunday, June 8. The Spaniard defeated Jannik Sinner in an engrossing five-set bout, in the finals, 4-6, 6-7 (4), 6-4, 7-6 (3), 7-6 (2).

According to Spotrac, that figure will move Alcaraz past tennis legend Pete Sampras for seventh place on the ATP career earnings list. Sampras made $43.3 million during his incredible career, which included 14 Grand Slam singles titles.
