RPG received its first story expansion with the 'Shattered Space' DLC, 'Starfield's design lead Emil Pagliarulo has argued the title is "the best game [Bethesda] has ever made" and labelled it a "technical marvel".

Starfield is "in a lot of ways, the best game we've ever made", even if it "might not be everyone's cup of tea", according to Bethesda's Emil Pagliarulo.

Shattered Space may also serve as a bellwether for how much Bethesda wants to keep investing in Starfield given pressure from Microsoft to deliver more games more quickly
